ESSENTIAL  FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinates and manages the Initiative’s programming across all participating schools.  
  • Develops and implements strategy for school recruitment and growth.
  • Plans activities and updates curriculum to enhance and support Global Minds programing .
  • Communicates effectively with students and teachers to enhance programming.
  • Represents Global Minds at events and conferences to spread organizational awareness.
  • Builds positive relationships with different organizations and partners in order to bring different opportunities to students.
  • Develops resources, trainings and educational content to support Global Minds chapters.
  • Creates monthly newsletter to communicate programming achievements.
  • Works collaboratively with students, parents, schools, and staff to create a diverse and culturally inclusive environment.
  • Stays up to date on the latest research and data regarding best practices in students’ academic preparedness, youth leadership, community engagement, and cultural diversity.
  • Implements evaluation tools to help evaluate impact of programming.
  • Maintains regular communication with Executive Director, key stakeholders, parents, school district personnel, and funder staff to ensure safe and quality care for all students.
  • Assures appropriate program information and documentation is maintained and organized to include all information as deemed required by the agency and funders.
  • Supports in grant writing, strategic planning efforts and with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Submits all required information, reports and supporting documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains the highest level of safety in programming.
  • Support oversight of interns, fellows, and/or student projects.
  • Adheres to all policies, laws, regulations, and codes of ethics and confidentiality as outlined by federal and state laws, and agency policies and procedures.
  • Reliable mode of transportation or ease using public transportation .

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Global Studies or related field with experience related directly to international education; one year case management or public education system experience preferred; an equivalent combination of skills, experience and education may be considered, at the discretion of the Agency
  • Experience working in a leadership position in a program or organization serving children or school-age youth
  • Must be flexible to meet organizations needs.Will include some evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, program staff and other key stakeholders
  • Must be culturally sensitive to needs of all communities served
  • Ability to work with high school aged youth in decision making roles
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse staff, parents, and community members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
  • Ability to transport oneself and/or clients as program needs dictate
  • Ability to understand and follow supervisory direction
  • Ability to work independently following established policies and procedures, including emergency situations
  • Ability to display an understanding and empathetic attitude
  • Successfully complete Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania.
  • Must successfully obtain Criminal History Clearance from the Pennsylvania State Police and Child Abuse Clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and Fingerprint Based FBI Clearance.

PREFERRED:

  • Proficiency in a foreign language, in addition to English fluency
  • Experience working with ESL Students, immigrants or refugees
